Little Bits About What Makes Me Tick
Photo restoration of old family portrait. From left to right are my Grandfather Guy Allen, Great Uncle Gerald Allen, and Great Uncle Joe Allen. This photo is a treasure but needs lots of work. In addition to the tears, chunks missing, and scratches, it is covered with dust. And yes, Joe Allen is where Marty Joe comes from...
The Pike Place Public Market, aka, Farmer's Market is one of my favorite places in the World to shoot. Seattle itself has got to be one of the greatest cities. The Public Market, famous for it's flying fish, is just a wonder to see agaian and again. Here you can find organic fruit, flowers, seafood (fresh of course), glass blowers, fabrics, and absolutely amazing art of all kinds. My only bad point is that I was not able to stay here long enough to capture it for you to see.
This great old car is sitting out front of an old gas station in my home town. It is an Oldsmobile 88. Too cool. Although this is great to see, would love to see someone give this old girl some TLC. Nikon D300, 18-200, ISO 200.
This Torch Cafe sign is another fading relic of a bygone era. I am still surprised to see these old signs still standing. I have vowed to get better and better at actually stopping and photographing them, instead of saying "Hey, that sign would make a great picture." Nikon D300, 18.0 - 200.0 mm; f/3.5 - f/5.6, 82mm, F11, 1/500 at ISO200.
I was walking across a bridge over this street, just a few blocks off of the lake front in Chicago. I looked down and saw this couple waiting to get on the Chicago Trolley. The shadows caused by the headlights from the waiting taxis were just stunning. Nikon D300 17-55mm at 25mm.
